Autism Assessments — Child

The Autism assessment is suitable for children over 5 years of age. At Gateway we used a neurodiversity affirming approach, utilising gold standard approaches including the Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum (MIGDAS-2), and or a clinical interview based on the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). All autism assessors are experienced in conducting assessments in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth edition, and the Australian Autism Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) guidelines. Reports are suitable to apply for NDIS funding. How long does it take? 1. The assessment consists of 90 minute parent only interview. 2. Child assessment session 2 x 90 minute appointments. 3. 50 minute feedback session where the findings will be discussed. Fees for the Child Autism assessment are $2800. A full Autism, ADHD and educational assessment is also available. This includes: 1. Parent interview 90 minutes 2. 3 x 90 minute child assessment sessions 3. 50 minute feedback session. Fees for this comprehensive assessment are $3200. Please note, you can self refer, however if you have a referral from a GP, child psychiatrist or pediatrician you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. Children under the age of 12 years will also need to seek a consultation with a paediatrician and speech pathologist to confirm an Autism diagnosis. Children 13 years and above will need to seek a consultation with a paediatrician or child psychiatrist only.

Autism Assessments — Adult

The Autism assessment is suitable for individuals over the age of 18 years. At Gateway we used a neurodiversity affirming approach, utilising gold standard approaches including the the Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum (MIGDAS-2), and or a clinical interview based on the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). All autism assessors are experienced in conducting assessments in accordance with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth edition, and the Australian Autism Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) guidelines. Reports are suitable to apply for NDIS funding. How long does it take? 1. The assessment consists of 2.5 hour interview using the Migdas-2 or ADI-R and some structured questionnaires to assess daily functionality. 2. A 50 minute feedback session where the findings will be discussed. Fees for the Adult Autism assessment are $2250. If you wish to incorporate an ADHD as well, fees are $2600. A full Autism, ADHD and educational assessment is also available. This includes: 1. Parent interview 90 minutes 2. 3 x 90 minute child assessment sessions 3. 50 minute feedback session.
